We had 40 bowlers this past Sunday
on the PBA50 Standard pattern (42
feet). Brandon Bates of Modesto led all
qualifiers with a 1556 6 game total (a
259 average).
Scott Boyle of Modesto was 2nd after
qualifying with a 1530 6 game total (a
255 average), and Rich Custer of Mo-
desto qualified 3rd with a 1513 6 game
total (a 252 average).
In the stepladder finals Rich Custer
first defeated the #5 seed Joe Petrovich
of Tracy 289 to 211. This set up a Cus-
ter vs. Boyle semi-finals. This match
came down to the 10th frame where
Scott would need just a mark for the
win. Scott though left a pocket 7-10 in
the 10th to lose to Rich 246 to 244. In
the Finals it would again come down to
the 10th frame, this time it was Brandon
needed to double in the 10th for the
title. Brandon got the first strike but not
the second one thus losing the match to
Rich 249 to 244.
For Rich this is his 9th Scratch 6
Gamer title and earned $400.00 for the
the win. Congratulations to Rich and all
the other cashers.
