his
DV8 Grudge

Lanes
. Dennis bowls in the
Wednesday Twilight league
at
Santa Fe
as well as the Red
Rock Rowdies at
Red Rock
Lanes
. He says with his win-
nings, he plans to enter more

cheered on by both his wife
and son. Retired for almost 2
years, Dennis mentioned that he felt
“in a zone”
which is what kept him focused. He
says that he enjoys the friendly group of bowlers on the Tour and traveling to the differ-
ent houses the Tour bowls in. In his spare time, Dennis like to golf and go RVing.
New member
Weston Riley
of Las Vegas joined the tour just this weekend! Weston
has been bowling for about 1 year, and used his 15lb.
Roto GripWrecker

at
Santa Fe Lanes
where he
bowls the Early Birds league.
Weston was cheered on by his
friends and fellow new mem-
bers, and plans to share his
winnings with the
Woods and
Waters Charity.
Weston is a
new resident to Las Vegas and
mentioned that the crew was
very respectful and knowledge-
able about bowling. Outside of
bowling, Weston enjoys snow-
boarding, riding dirt bikes, fish-
ing, hunting and hiking.
Holding the Ball Properly
How do you hold your bowling ball? Most of you probably
don’t give much thought to this subject.
Do you hold the ball in front of you with both hands as if you
were trying to squeeze something out of it? If so, you are not
supporting the ball with your non-bowling hand. Your elbows
are sticking straight out, and both of your wrists are broken.
This method of holding the ball may cause you to shove the
ball away from your body and around behind your hip during
the pendulum swing.
Do you wrap your non-bowling hand around the front of the
ball? If so, you make it almost impossible to help in pushing the
ball out, as you should, with both hands. In addition, your wrist
is again broken. Too many things need to be corrected on the
way to the foul line.
Hold your ball slightly to the right of your body (left for lefties),
supporting most of the ball with your non-bowling hand. The
ball should be in line with your bowling shoulder. Consider us-
ing a wristband to keep your wrist straight and firm.
Remember, the less you have to do, the more effective you
will be in your delivery.
