Koivuniemi, Parkin Lead World Bowling
Tour Points List
ARLINGTON, Texas - Finland's Mika Koivuniemi and the United States'
Missy Parkin lead the World Tenpin Bowling Association World Bowling Tour
points list after seven events on the 2013 schedule.
The World Bowling Tour is made up of various events around the world and
players earn points based on how they finish in each event. The current points
system is based on a continuous two-year cycle, so points include some
events from 2011 and all events from 2012 in addition to the 2013 events.
In the two most recent events, Koivuniemi picked up 40 points for a second-
place finish at the Kuwait Open and earned eight points at the Brunswick Euro
Challenge in Munich, Germany. He leads the men's field with
476 total points.
Sean Rash of the United States took the victory at the Kuwait Open and sits
in second place on the points list with 464 points. Mike Fagan of the United
States is third with 448 points, while Australia's Jason Belmonte is fourth with
418 points.
Ronnie Russell of the United States won the Euro Challenge and sits in
13th place overall with 192 points.
Parkin remains on top of the women's points list with 506 points despite not
competing in Kuwait or Germany. The leaderboard is full of Team USA mem-
bers with Kelly Kulick second (484 points), Liz Johnson third (373 points),
Shannon Pluhowsky fourth (305 points) and Diandra Asbaty fifth
(297 points).
Sweden's Sandra Andersson was the top female finisher in Kuwait and is
sixth with 240 points, while Singapore's Jazreel Tan earned the maximum 50
points in Germany and sits in seventh with 225 points.
The World Bowling Tour's next event is the It's Daejeon International Open
Bowling Tournament, a major event on the tour that will take place in Daejeon,
Korea from July 7-13.
The World Tenpin Bowling Association, which is made up of 115 bowling

BPAA Announces 2013 Bowling Industry
Service Awards
Former BPAA President Jack Moran to be Honored with Victor Lerner Memorial Medal. Seven Oth-
ers to be Recognized During International Bowl Expo in Las Vegas in June
ARLINGTON, Texas - The Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA), the bowling
industry's premier trade association, announced Jack Moran, Canandaigua, N.Y. as the recipient of
the 2013 Victor Lerner Memorial Medal. Seven others will be recognized with BPAA Industry Service
Awards during BPAA's annual meeting June 24 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The
Lerner award will be presented at a special ceremony Wednesday morning, June 26.
"Each year the Awards committee is challenged with many candidates in each category and this
year was no different," said BPAA President, Cathy DeSocio. "Each nominee is deserving on their
own, which makes the committee's work a challenge. This year the BPAA Awards Committee has
taken the opportunity to recognize those individuals who are dedicated and passionate about every
aspect of the bowling industry from national league promotions to national media coverage, from
grassroots legislative efforts to a grassroots ambassador of the game. The list includes a new tour-
nament concept for a growing segment of our bowlers, a devoted chronicler of our industry
and gentleman whose tireless dedication to BPAA is unquestionable."
International Bowl Expo is the premier bowling industry event attracting bowling center owners,
proprietors, managers and industry partners from around the world. In 2013 the event will be held at
Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino June 23 - 27. The trade show will be at the Las Vegas Conven-
tion Center Wednesday and Thursday, June 26-27.
2013 BPAA Industry Award recipients:
Victor Lerner Memorial Medal and BPAA Hall of Fame - Jack Moran, Roseland Bowl, Canandai-
gua, New York
The award is presented to a proprietor for selfless service to the industry over a significant period
of time. It is the highest honor in the bowling industry and represents induction into the BPAA Hall of
Fame located in Arlington, Texas. The award is named after BPAA past President, Victor Lerner.
BPAA Media Award - Joe LaSpina, John LaSpina, Maple Family Centers, Rockville, New York
Presented to a proprietor or manager, or a national and/or local non-bowling media representa-
tive, who effectively uses print or electronic media to benefit the BPAA and to make significant con-
tributions to further the sport and / or business of bowling. The LaSpinas garnered national, as well
as regional and local media, attention on television and in print with their portable bowling lanes that
