Scott McAllister Wins
9-Pin No Tap Tour
It took two days, 5 squads, 97 entries
and match play competition to determine
a winner for our
1st Quarter Champion-
ship
. We thank our 1QC sponsors Miller
Lite and Brunswick, along
with The Orleans Bowling Cen-
ter. We set a new entry record
and paid out our biggest 1st
Place Prize check this
year. Even the Low-to-Cash
(20th place) paid out a high-to-
date of
$100.00
. To begin with,
we qualified 14 bowlers
from Saturday's 3 squads and
added another 6 bowlers from
two squads on Sunday, for a
total of 20 finalists. Prior
to Sunday's Finals, Chris
Basilio, the Saturday Top Quali-
fier, received his new Bruns-
wick 'Melee' bowling ball for
his 1039. Shortly after Scott
McAllister had topped his score
with a sweet 1069, becoming
the overall #1 Seed and earning
the Tour
Top Qualifier
jacket. 3
bowlers (Sharon Balboa, Tess
Zafra & Kenny Reynolds) also
shared the
9-Tap Jack-
pot
Consolation, for $40.00
each for their front 4-Taps. The
scoring was right on target,
ranging from 1069, to the low
qualifying score of 936.
Two 'Hot' bowlers reached the
Final match on Sunday, when
Top Qualifier Scott McAllister
went up against last week's
Champion Guy Hirsimaki. Guy,
by his own admission. had
been having somegreat luck all
day, but in the final match his
luck started to run out and Scott
McAllister's hot hand re-
mained HOT as he was able to
defeat Guy 230-169. Scott has
been bowling for 13 years and
was using his Storm Crux
drilled up at Sam's Town. As we often
hear from our winners, there is often a
back story to go with day's events. In
Scott's case,
he was not
planning
to
bowl due to a
lack
of
fi-
nances. $200
had been set
aside for his
wife, Liberdy,
to travel to a
bachel o r e t te
party,
how-
ever, she de-
cided to give
her husband
$100 to enter
the tournament
instead. That
i n v e s t m e n t
certainly paid
off big time, with the largest Winner's
check of the year, at
$1,585.00
! The party
is in Illinois so the winnings will certainly
make the trip much easier! Cheering
Scott to his win, along with his wife were
his two young children, Daniell and Ha-
zel. Scott thanked the Tour commenting it
is a great organization and glad we have
come to Vegas. Thanks Scott and con-
gratulations on your first Tour Title and
kudos to Liberdy for believing in her hus-
band!
Congratulations to Guy for his 2nd Place
finish and second straight BIG payday,
pocketing his own
COOL $729.00 check. A first and second
place finish in the the last two weeks, not
too shabby, Guy! Dawn Niino and Jermal
Williams finished tied for 3rd place, split-
ting the 3rd place Pro Pot money. Dawn
knocked out the only other lady (Ellena
Dominguez) in the Elite 8, before running
into the very HOT Scott McAllister. While
Jermal beat his friend (Daryl Jeffries),
prior to his match with Guy in the Semi-
Finals. CONGRATS to all the Finalists!

As the day unfolded at Sam's Town,
the score to beat was set in the first
squad, on the fresh oil. An incredible
1029 was posted by
Alena Adri-
anse
. Her score would be challenged
by many, but it managed to holdup
throughout the day. Alena just joined
the Tour a couple of weeks ago and
started Saturday with an impressive
string of EIGHT real strikes, in the
middle of her first game. She was
pretty excited with her BIG Win, worth
a hefty
$1,303.00
, thanks in part to
her Ruckus DV8 Feud, drilled up by
