TH
Annual Reno Jr/Adult
Invitational
By Debbie Haggerty
Another tournament in the books! I want to thank everyone for participating this
year and Thank our generous sponsors: Vise/David Brown, Brunswick Bowling/
KevinTabron , Storm Bowling/Dave Kost, El Dorado Hotel and Casino, and the Na-
tional Bowling Stadium. We awarded $10,395.50 in scholarships this year, and over
$275,000.00 since this event started in 1999. A special thanks to our volunteers
that helped me, for without them I could not do this: my husband, Pat, my awesome
friends Eve, Barbara, Lisa, Anthony, Josh, Melanie, Gina, Traci, Bobby Hiraokaand
anyone I missed that helped with the event. You all did an awesome job again!
Many of you have bowled this event for more than ten or more years, with Mike
Bowsher from Clovis participating all 17 years! It’s great to see everyone and all the
new faces too. It’s a bowling family reunion every year! This year Marge Petroni
from Auburn made her retirement debut and I hope someone steps up to fill her
shoes. Youth Directors like Marge are invaluable to bowling and we need more
dedicated professionals to mentor our next generation. She was PJ’s first coach
some 25 years ago and I believe she was inspirational in his bowling future. Thanks
Marge for all you have done for so many for so long! A special thank you to all the
other youth directors; Traci Tang, Pam Tamagni, Chris Alvarez, Gail Smith, Keith
Fujikami, Percy Maragos, John Robles, Jaime Patterson, Denise Garibaldi, Brett
Kociemba, and Airene Morales from Classic Bowling Center who won the Coordina-
tors Award again this year for bringing the most teams and doubles this year with 17
teams and 51 doubles!
We awarded Jr Gold spots to Roman Dacasin, Johnathan Maragos and Maranda
Pattison. They will compete in Indianapolis July 2016. Congratulations to all of you!
