New Solutions & Updates
We hope you're having fun in the sun this summer!
The Generitech team is excited to announce several
powerful new solutions and a few updates to existing
products, all available in June! Thanks to our loyal news-
letter subscribers for experiencing the difference, month
after
month.
A Change In The Storm Upgrade Ball
Because of the high demand of Storm's current in-line
balls, they have pushed back the release date of the
Marvel-S. Instead they are very excited to offer you the
"Gold Ball" - the IQ Tour Pearl, one of the most recog-
nized balls used in competition world wide!
Storm also feels that the Marvel-S reacts similarly to
the SYNC and the Gold Ball would be a better fit for the
TAT entrants, giving them more versatility on the TAT
pattern!

Huge Increase In Teams Creates A
Schedule Change
Greetings from Las Vegas! With more than 2 months before tournament time,
we are happy to report a record number of teams! The event has grown every
year with last year's 103 teams taking the floor.
As of this date there are 145 teams already registered. A & B Squads both filled
quickly so we took the 6PM Re-Entry squad and turned it into a C Squad to ac-
commodate additional teams. Then we pushed back the Re-Entry squads to
9:30pm each night.
There will still be fresh oil for every shift including the Re-Entry squads. The oil
pattern can now be viewed
10th New Mexico Open
Set To Roll In August
Purse Worth Record $53,000 This Year; Record $10,000 To Winner
RIO RANCHO, N.M. - The 10th New Mexico Open, to be held
at Tenpins & More in Rio Rancho, August 16-18, 2013, will retain
its place as one of the Southwest's biggest and richest bowling
tournaments with cash prizes and awards totaling more than a
record $53,000, an increase of more than $12,000 compared to
last year.
Additionally, there's another $6,000 expected payoff in side
events and brackets during the week.
"We're aiming for a full field of 240 by adding a fifth qualifying
squad," said Tournament Director Steve Mackie. "Our sponsors,
both local and national brands with whom we do business, are on
board again and that enables us to increase the pay-out."
Mackie continued, "We've left the entry fee at still only
$225.00, which is much less than most other scratch tourna-
ments." Mackie added they expect the field may attract more
bowlers as many top-level players are involved in international
events in Las Vegas around the same time-frame.
The field may include defending champion, Lonnie Waliczek of
Wichita, Kan., and former winners including Devin Bidwell, Calif.,
Andrew Cain, Ariz., Chris Klerk, Ariz., John Young, N.M., David
Haynes, Nev. and Shawn Lee Color, all of whom are active tour-
nament players.
Since the event started in 2004, more than 240 different bowl-
ers have shared total prize-money of more than $252,000, with
over a dozen bowlers having won at least $5,000 in their career.
Last year, former national touring pro, Lonnie Waliczek found
himself in 11th place after qualifying, then made his moves Sun-
day, first in the semi-finals with 929 over four games to jump to
second, then strings of 209, 232, 216, 223, 234, 215, 212 and
279 and an 8-0 match-play record for a 208-pin lead with four to
go.
He lost two of them, but finished as top-seed with a commend-
able 220.7 average on a testing lane condition, ahead of Kristo-
pher Prather, Kan., Aaron Foshie, Ariz., Bryanna Caldwell, Ariz.
and Billy Grant, N.M., who finished pins ahead of senior touring
pro, Mike Edwards, Okla., followed by Robert Gotchall, Neb., 7th,
George Gaucin, Texas, 8th and Josh Blanchard, Ariz., 9th.
In the step-ladder finals, local hope Grant beat Caldwell - the
first woman to make it that far - then lost to Foshie 213-187.
Prather fired 247 to eliminate Foshie, then lost 206-193 in the
tenth frame to Walizcek, who took home a then-record first place
check of $8,530.
The tournament will feature a traditional format of 25 games of
qualifying, semi-finals and match-play prior to the championship
round matches scheduled for 4:00 p.m, Sunday, August 18.
The top five scorers at that point will bowl one-game elimina-
tion matches, with fifth playing fourth, the winner then playing the
third seed, then the second seed before challenging the leader
for the crown and a tournament record $10,000 first prize.
