Almost A
3 Way Tie!!
$2,979.00
Total Paid Out
52 Entries
1/14/2017
It was a crazy day at
The Orleans
starting off with
Crazy 8s. There were 10 contestants totaling 17 entries
including re-buys. It took 6 rounds of competition to get
to our final 2. Just bowling in her 2nd event,
Barbara
Barnett
squared up against
Richard Wash
for a show-
down that went 3 rounds between the two. In the end,
Richard came through to win his way into the first
squad, while Barbara, the lone lady in the group, set-
tled for a partial entry. Even the spectators enjoyed the
back and forth competition.
The Orleans
is building a reputation as a strong scor-
ing house. So when competitive scores get put up, our
Members don’t give up. With a total of
52
entries, 10
members made the ―Cash List‖, with a 4 game cut
score of
982
. Going into squad 3, we had a 4 way tie for
the Jackpot with 3 Taps. That was soon to be broken
up by
Leham Reed
, who quietly slid his way in front,
breaking the 4 way split with his 4 taps earning
him
$100.00
from the 9-Tap Jackpot. But that wasn’t
the end of the craziness. Leading the first squad
was
Rebecca Danielson
with a strong
1027
series,
which would have been fine until
Sharon Bal-
boa
and
John Catiller
stormed into the
2nd squad with a
1027
to match. Could
there be a 3 Way Tie for the Title? One
bowler went the distance to make sure it
did not happen. However, by breaking the
tie, our newest Champion also becomes
our
FIRST
back-to-back LV Tour Cham-
pion!
Robert Rawling
, coming fresh off of his
first tour win, rings in the new year with
two Titles! His 4 game total of
1049
was
enough to secure a second payday
of
$771.00
. The 3 Way tie for second
proved to challenging dividing up the Pro
Pot as two were in for $10 and the other in
for $20.
Rebecca Danielson
and
Sharon
Balboa
would cash for
$213.00
each
and
John Catiller
put
$263.00
in his
pocket! The rest of the 'Cash List
Leham
Reed
,
Al Garcia
,
Leon Pitcher
,
Derrick
Chan
,
Brian Blackman
and
Christine
Fowler
. Congrats to all!
Who’s Next?
That was the question
asked at the conclusion of last week's
newsletter. Well after reading his own
bio,
Robert Rawling
responded withan ―
I
AM
‖ backing up his performance in the
previous week. Not much has changed
from 7 days ago, besides earning another
10 points for the
K&K Pro Shop i
nside
Sam’s Town
where he bowls league.
Robert showed up to win, but didn’t really
e x p e c t i t , m e n t i o n i n g t h a t
is
$10
contribution to the Progressive pot
didn’t make it to
$20
because
―what are the odds of winning
back-to-back‖? Well Robert, the
odds were in your favor and if
Robert is a bit superstitious, he
might delay shaving off his beard
for a few more weeks. A couple
notes to everyone: Remember that every pin counts,
and to believe in yourself. Great bowling Robert and
congratulations.
Now who’s next? Will it be you?
Loading up the 9-Tap Tour Van early Saturday morn-
ing to head to
Wildfire
was extremely difficult as it was
fiercely snowing in Las Vegas.
Ok.......maybe not fiercely but there was
snow....alright....tiny tiny flakes, but it was snow. Many
thanks to our Members who braved the cold grey day
to help contribute to 38 entries and a payout
of
$2,316.00.
Competition started out strong with 13 entries into
the
Crazy 8s
competition! And for the first time
since
Crazy 8s
started, everyone became a Finalist
and moved into the Last Man Standing round. When it
was all said and done and a few rounds of 9 or better to
determine a winner,
Sammy Goss
won his entry for
the day and
Terry Sherman
earned a partial entry of
$35! As always it was great fun to watch!
Wildfire
is
building a reputation for the Jackpot to hit as
Rebecca
Danielson
tapped it for a COOL
$250.00
with her 5
Taps in game 4. Two others had 7 taps and even 8
taps in the middle of their games! Rebecca also wins
a 2017 Member Rewards Book worth over $3500 from
our sponsor
LasVegasAdisor.com.
The balance re-
maining for next week is still an
AWESOME
$3,073.00!
With this being a
'Best 3 out of 4'
weekend, every-
body got to drop that pesky low game to improve their
chances of making the 'Cash List'. Jumping out to an
early lead with an
842
with 3 strong hdcp games
was
Crystal Fulton.
Crystal was last seen on the Tour
way back in February of 2016. Content with her score
and a wedding to attend, Crystal said she would come
back after the nuptials to see if her score held up.
Don-
ald Jones
made a charge for the lead at 2:30pm but
came up 23 pins shy of the top with his
825
series. As
the last squad came to an end, a few Members had a
shot in the their closing frames to steal the Title from
Crystal. And the Winner is
Robert Rawling.
Robert
finished off his set with a huge game to shoot an
870
to
win the first Tour Title of 2017 for
$690.00
including his
$10 progressive pot entry. Crystal, opting out of the
Progressive Pot held on to 2nd place for
$250.00
and
Donald Jones completed the Top 3 and received a
check for
$236.00.
This puts the Progressive Pot back
over a grand at
$1003.00.
Congratulations to all of you!
Robert Rawling
of Las Vegas joined the
9-Tap
Tour
back on April 2, 2016 at
Sam's Town
. The new
champ is a 5 year veteran of the sport, and has
a previous best finish of 4th place. To earn his title, he
stood behind his
Pitch Black by Storm,
drilled up
by
Kyle at K&K-Sam's Town
where he bowls in
the Monday NFL and Wednesday Foxes & Hounds
league. With his win, he has earned 10 points for his
ball driller in the
2017 Pro Shop Contest
. Robert has
no special plans with his winnings, but with his wife
Benji watching, we're sure she can figure out some-
thing to do with the
$$$.
Robert mentioned that he was
very nervous in the last game, but he definitely kept the
composure of a champion finishing strong, giving him
the lead in the end. He would like to thank the 9-Tap
Tour staff as well as
Kenneth Fowler
for inviting him to
join. Now retired and aside from bowling, Robert enjoys
playing softball and is involved in stock car racing. Con-
grats on being the Tour's newest champion.
