BVL Participates in Veteran’s Day Activities
National BVL Board Members welcomed special guests Peter Hamilton (Brunswick Corp.) and
John Walker (Qubica AMF) at the Veterans Day ceremony at Arlington Cemetery on Novem-
ber 11, to join in the nation’s salute to America’s veterans. BVL was proud to have representa-
tives from Thunderbird Lanes (Philadelphia area) as well as USBC leaders from the Nation’s
Capital Area USBC, Appomattox River (VA) USBC and Alleghany-Bath (VA) USBC partici-
pate in the day’s events.
For Hamilton and Walker, the day began with a breakfast at the White House hosted by Presi-
dent and Mrs. Obama for members of the National Veterans Day Organizing Committee. As a
member of this prestigious committee, BVL received two tickets to the breakfast, at which
Hamilton and Walker represented BVL.
Alleghany – Bath USBC Association Manager Robbie Thomas commented, “Yesterday was
just one perfect day. Gorgeous day and great friends around us. Kathy was a ”first timer” from
our association and she was so impressed with all of the happenings. I believe this was the
most beautiful day since I have been coming to this event to honor our veterans. The sur-
roundings and background made the day more beautiful.”
