Terry Chittenten Bowls Her First 300
REDLANDS - Terry Chittenden bowled her first perfect game in EMPIRE BOWL'S Young, Old
and Restless ladies league, after competing for thirty-seven years. She used her Roto Grip Grand
Illusion bowling ball to roll a nice 682 (191 - 300 - 191) series on her big day.
Terry's previous high game was a 290 bowled in March 2011. Her highest series is a 761 bowled
at RIM LANES in Crestline, where the rarefied mountain air makes bowling more fun. Terry cur-
rently is averaging 213, just one pin below her highest book average, bowled in 2003-2004 at Rim
Lanes.
Chittenten was a regular at Rim Lanes as a junior bowler because her parents (JOHN and
LORRIE IACONO) were Rim's proprietors from 1975 - 2004. She worked at the her parents bowl-
ing center from 1975 - 1987. She also coached junior bowlers, served as a league secretary for
over ten years and was a WIBC house representative for five years.
Terry's Mom taught her to bowl and had Terry competing in the Citrus Belt Junior Travel League
as soon as she was eligible. From there it was on to the Citrus Belt Women's Scratch Travel
League. She has been a scratch bowler ever since.
Terry likes to play the lanes from the corner, usually rolling her ball over the eight board and
hooking it into the pocket at a perfect six degree
angle. I have watched her bowl and am amazed at the speed she generates. She bowled her per-
fecto on lanes one and two, moving to the five board that day.
Mrs.Chittenten's husband Clyde is not a bowler. The couple met in school without Clyde knowing
of Terry's bowling background. He asked Terry to go bowling on their first date because there was-
n't much else to do in Crestline. That date led to a wonderful relationship, marriage, kids and love to
last a lifetime. Clyde is still just an occasional recreational bowler, but is one hundred per cent
behind Terry's bowling pursuits.
Joe English Bowls 300 and Leads His Team To The Top
MURRIETA - Joe English anchors the first place team in Cal Oak's Monday 600 Scratch
League. As his teams anchor, Joe has won more individual match game points than any other
anchor person in the league. Joe takes on the best bowlers in the league and wins 85% of the
time. He has won 17 of 20 available match points!
The other night Joe's team was in a close match against DINA DURAN'S second place trio and
ended the evening with a team win, because Joe bowled a perfect game and a huge 746 (212 - 300
- 234)
set. Joe's big series was the difference and
led his team to the top.
Joe used his Storm Marvel Pearl to roll his big
score. He is grateful to Joel Ricketts for drilling
the ball perfectly. This 300 was Joe's
fourth. His high series to date is a 812 (300 - 258
- 254).
