Final Day of Competition Closes at the
International Senior Open
USA Sweeps Masters Titles
Las Vegas, Nev. – Players took to the lanes to compete for the divisional Masters
Titles today at Red Rock Resort Casino Lanes. Once again, USA Players swept the
competition, garnering all four top positions and taking eleven of the 27 cashers
spots.
The best overall performance was turned in by Bob Markiewicz, San Diego, Calif.,
with games of 279-203-236-242-300 for a scratch total of 1260. Including bonus pins
for match play, Makiewich finished with 1350 to win the Men‟s 50-60 Division. Char
Hammel, Las Vegas, shot the women‟s overall scratch total games of 268-214-279-
225-228
for a 1214 series, 1364 with bonus pins, to win the Women‟s 56 and over
medal.
The champion of the Men‟s 61 and over division, Terry Leong, Henderson, Nev.,
bowled a 1208 scratch series with a high game of 268. Rounding out the top four was
Robin Romen, Newhall, Calif., with 1181 scratch series, winning the Women‟s 45-55
division. Medals will be awarded tomorrow for the winners of each division of the
event during the Closing Ceremonies.
